Darkplay | Pervert

“Pervert,” the latest single from Los Angeles duo Darkplay, is a new-wave jam that waxes and wanes with pleasing synth melodies and emotional vocals, backed by a retro kick and snare pattern that might be familiar to listeners of Depeche Mode and The Cure.

Darkplay describes their sound as a series of discoveries that are “less romantic, more pessimistic, more cynical, and celebratory of the innately deviant.” “Pervert” comes as a sincere and shimmering ode to the very human need for physical touch, perhaps with a softly sexual undertone of sweet romance, loved or lost.
