Playing early smartphone games and television might actually be true memories of childhood for some creators, yet the aesthetic for comfy synth leans more towards treehouses, fireplaces, and blanket fortresses. These things might also be a part of the creators memories, yet comfy synth as a romantic movement is a mix of actual memories as well as borrowed ones from a collective consciousness of an imagined simpler time.”

With this definition in mind, I created Frog Concert in 2022. I was seeking to construct a musical world of anthropomorphic frogs and an amphibious mixed consort ensemble who performed interpretations of my most beloved childhood memories which are of learning to play the violin. I reworked versions of the actual music of my youth, to varying degrees, with imagined classical frog standards.
