Uneven Oceans | Brian Saia

“Uneven Oceans” is a collection of post-rock / folktronica instrumental compositions inspired during the pandemic (April ’20 – January ’21). This album is a journey through memory during a time of isolation and tethered wanderlust. In reflection, I encapsulate moments and then transcribe them into sound, creating a temporal map that connects music to place. Each piece represents a space that no longer exists, transformed through extreme weather or other external forces. Through these personal memorials, I intend to honor these locations, like a sonic journal of my movement through lapsed landscapes.

I encourage the listener to travel with this music in whatever form is meaningful. While listening, explore your surroundings that are fleeting, to feel the flux of the inexorable now. Drop beacons in the tumult and anchors of recollection across the uneven ocean of the mind.
